Steve Kim is a leadership coach, pastor, educator, and nonprofit founder with over 20 years of experience helping individuals and organizations grow into their full potential. With a rare blend of strategic insight, cross-cultural perspective, and spiritual depth, he equips others to lead with clarity, courage, and purpose — wherever they are planted.
Professional Experience
With a career that spans multiple sectors, Steve has held executive leadership roles in both nonprofit and academic settings. He currently serves as:

- Professor at Trinity Western University
Organizational Behaviour and Leadership - Founder and Executive Director of Global Joy Foundation
Nonprofit dedicated to developing servant leaders in East Africa
In his work, Steve has provided strategic direction during complex seasons of change, mentored emerging leaders across disciplines, and designed leadership programs rooted in authenticity and service.
Global Leadership Perspective
From building orphanages in North Korea to training servant leaders in Uganda, Steve’s leadership has taken him to places few are willing to go. His global work has included:
- Humanitarian leadership in North Korea and Northeast China
- Leadership development programs in Uganda, Kenya, and Mombasa
- Speaking and coaching across Brazil, Japan, South Korea, and the U.S.
This global exposure gives Steve a unique sensitivity to diverse cultural dynamics and the ability to lead — and train others to lead — across boundaries.

Over the past two decades, Steve has coached leaders in executive roles, nonprofit organizations, and ministry — helping them navigate change, develop emotional intelligence, and lead from a place of personal alignment. Health & Wholeness
Steve believes true leadership starts with the inner life. A lifelong athlete, he emphasizes the connection between emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. Together with his wife Sonya, a certified integrative health coach, they model a lifestyle of holistic health and intentional living.
Family & Personal Life
Steven is devoted to his family and loves his wife and children deeply. He met his wife in university, and considers her his best friend. He is very proud of his two children, not only for their accomplishments but for the people they have become and continue to become. For Steven, his family will always take priority in his life!
